At St Anthony’s Primary School we value music as a subject because it is a powerful and unique form of communication that can change the way pupils feel, think and act. It also increases self-discipline and creativity, sensitivity and fulfilment. We aim to provide all pupils with the opportunity for: a creative response to the arts through experimentation and activities that develop the arts concepts and skills successively, an awareness of different cultures and traditions through expression in music lessons, an understanding of a wide range of styles. In addition, pupils will experience personal satisfaction through making music, performances and presentations together, to develop the skills necessary to achieve the highest possible standards in music.
