At St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School, everything we do is inspired by the example of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church. Guided by the words of our patron saint, St Anthony of Padua, “Let your words teach and your actions speak”, we seek to help every child become the very best version of themselves, recognising that each person is uniquely created in the image and likeness of God.
Our mission is not simply something displayed on a wall; it is lived daily through our relationships, curriculum, prayer life and service to others. Pupils are encouraged to develop as confident, compassionate and responsible young people who understand that faith should be expressed through both words and actions. Gospel values underpin school life and are reflected through our Respect Rules, daily prayer, Gospel assemblies, Religious Education, Catholic Social Teaching and the many opportunities pupils have to serve others.
At St Anthony’s, we believe that every child should feel valued, included and able to flourish. We are committed to helping children develop academically, spiritually, morally and socially, whilst discovering and sharing their God-given gifts and talents. Through opportunities such as Mini Vinnies, charitable fundraising, environmental projects and service to others, pupils learn how they can make a positive difference within their school, local community and the wider world.
Strong partnerships with parents and carers are central to our mission. We recognise them as the first educators of their children and work alongside families through our sacramental programme, liturgical celebrations, pastoral support and wider opportunities for engagement in school life.
Inclusion, Wellbeing & Mental Health
At St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School, we believe that children thrive when they feel safe, understood and valued. The wellbeing of every member of our community is therefore a priority.
We are proud of our Trauma Informed approach and every member of staff has undertaken training in Trauma Informed Practice. This approach recognises that children’s experiences shape their behaviour and development and helps us respond with understanding, compassion and consistency.
For us, this means:

- We provide children with space and support to understand and manage their emotions.
- We value each child as an individual and recognise their unique strengths and needs.
- We nurture strong, positive relationships built on trust and respect.
- We understand the impact that stress, adversity and trauma can have on a child’s development.
