Headteacher’s Welcome

It is with immense joy and deep personal pride that I welcome you to St. Anthony’s Catholic Primary School – a place that holds a very special place in my heart, having been a pupil here myself many years ago.

Our recent Ofsted inspection in March 2025 beautifully captured what makes St. Anthony’s so special. The inspectors noted that “St Anthony’s is a happy school with a strong sense of community” where “pupils embody the school’s vision” and “always accept a challenge” with a genuine “love for learning.” They praised our positive relationships, our pupils’ enthusiasm, and how our children move around school calmly while being “polite and welcoming” to all.

At St. Anthony’s, we are guided by the wisdom of our patron saint, who reminds us to “Let your words teach and your actions speak.” This philosophy permeates everything we do. Our words teach through our ambitious curriculum and high expectations for all pupils. Our actions speak through our commitment to Catholic values, our dedication to each child’s individual journey, and our unwavering belief that every child can succeed.

I am particularly proud of how our school community embodies Gospel values in daily life. Our pupils take their responsibilities seriously, making positive contributions to school life and supporting local charities. They understand the importance of respect, diversity, and acceptance – values that will serve them throughout their lives.

As someone who once sat in these very classrooms, I understand the lasting impact St. Anthony’s has on its pupils. The memories, friendships, and foundations built here truly do last a lifetime. My commitment to you is to ensure that your child experiences the same sense of belonging, challenge, and joy that I experienced as a pupil, while building upon our recent improvements and continuing our journey of excellence.
